While we continue to push through to the release of our closed beta next week, and onward to a general beta, I wanted to take a moment and share a particularly exciting bit of news. I think that Skyence is a very unique company within the broader Austin startup scene. There are amazing companies here that are doing some really exciting things.

To that end, it’s particularly rewarding when other people see value and are excited about what you are doing as a new company with a new idea. As we have continued to grow and bring our product to market, we’ve always been on the look out for exceptional talent, whether that’s a direct hire or people that can help us from the side lines, mentoring the company with their unique skill set.

One such example of someone with an amazing skill set is April Downing, and I’m happy to announce that Skyence has added April as an advisor to the company. I’ve known April for a number of years and even as we were first incubating the idea that would become Skyence, I always hoped that we would be able to involve her.

April is currently the CFO at DachisGroup, where she has spearheaded an aggressive roll up strategy within the social media consulting space. Before Dachis, April provided, and continues to provide consulting and advisory services to several high-growth Austin Ventures portfolio companies.

April has held a number of executive positions within Austin high tech, including: Chief Financial Officer for Alterpoint, Inc. and Chief Accounting Officer and acting CFO of Motive, Inc. She began her career with Price Waterhouse’s Audit and Business Advisory Services, where she specialized in technology start-ups and early growth companies.

We are truly blessed to have someone as capable as April join our Advisory Board. We expect to do amazing things and we know that April will help guide us along the way.
